Alexis DeJoria, Del Worsham
This week on “Living it Loud” Alexis DeJoria and Del Worsham. Tune in Wednesday at 8am Denver time to hear their stories.
Alexis DeJoria worked her way up to the premier Funny Car class by starting in Super Gas before moving to a Super Comp dragster. From there, she progressed to Top Alcohol Funny Carwhere she raced and managed a team from 2009-2011. She experienced success at every level, winning a Super Comp national event as well as capturing the TAFC win at the 2011 NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle.
Racing for Kalitta Motorsports, DeJoria made her professionalFunny Car debut at the 2011 Dallas event. Her first career pro Funny Car win came in 2014 at the Arizona Nationals in Phoenix and was quickly followed that season by a win in Las Vegas and a victory at the historic U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. She then went on to pick up victories in Las Vegas (2016) and Brainerd, Minn. (2017) before she took a two-season break from racing in 2018-2019. She returned to the series in 2020, partnering with Del Worsham to form DC Motorsports.
Del Worsham is the crew chief and co-owner of the Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra Funny Car driven by Alexis DeJoria. The team competes on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series circuit.
Worsham made his first professional start at the last race of the 1990 NHRA season in Pomona, California. He competed primarily in the Funny Car series from his debut through the 2010 season. He did, however, split his time between Funny Car and Top Fuel from 1993 to 1995. At the beginning of the 2011 season, he switched to the Top Fuel series.
Del drove for his family's team from the beginning of his career until joining the Al-Anabi Racing Toyota Funny Car team in 2009. In 2020, DC Motorsports was established with Alexis DeJoria.
